Terms of Use

These are the rules for using this website. By using it, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. They are written in plain English on purpose, because a rule you cannot understand is no protection for either of us.

What this site is

An information site about the betting apps run by licensed South African bookmakers. It is run by Best Betting Apps at bestbettingapps.co.za and can be contacted at info@bestbettingapps.co.za. Everything on it is free to read.

What this site is not

  • We are not a bookmaker. We do not take bets and we are not licensed to.
  • We do not hold your money. There is no account here and nothing to deposit.
  • We sell you nothing.
  • We do not give betting tips and we do not tell you what to bet on.
  • We are not financial or legal advisers.

You must be 18

You must be 18 or older to gamble in South Africa. That is section 12 of the National Gambling Act 7 of 2004. If you are under 18, do not use the bookmaker links on this site. Every bookmaker we list will check your age and your ID before it lets you withdraw.

Betting is your decision

  • Any bet you place is yours. You place it with a bookmaker, not with us.
  • Any money you lose is yours. We are not responsible for it.
  • Your account is between you and the bookmaker. Deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, FICA, disputes and closures, all of it.
  • Read the bookmaker’s terms. Every bookmaker has its own, and those are the terms that bind your bet.

We try to be accurate but can still be wrong

We check facts on the bookmakers’ own websites and we say when we checked. Bookmakers still change offers, apps, payment methods and terms without telling anybody. A welcome offer that is right today can be different next week, and an app that installs one way this month can move next month. Check with the bookmaker before you rely on anything here, and if you find we are wrong, email us and we will fix it.

Links to other websites

  • Some links are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, the bookmaker may pay us. It costs you nothing and it changes nothing about your account. Our affiliate disclosure explains it.
  • Once you leave this site we have no control. Their site, their terms, their privacy policy.
  • A link is not a guarantee. We list bookmakers we believe hold a South African provincial licence, and we print the licence details we can find. Licences can be suspended or withdrawn. The National Gambling Board publishes a list of verified operators if you want to check for yourself.

What is legal in South Africa

Sports betting and horse racing betting with a bookmaker licensed by a South African provincial licensing authority are lawful. Those licensed bookmakers also offer Aviator, other crash games, slots and live casino tables as fixed odds betting games under their bookmaker licences, and that is the route through which casino style games are offered in South Africa. Online casinos with no South African licence are not lawful here, and if you gamble with one you have no protection and we have nothing to do with it. Some products are being argued over in the courts and between regulators, and where that is the case we say so on the page rather than picking a side.

Our content

  • The words and layout on this site belong to us. You may read them, share a link to them, and quote a short piece with a credit and a link back.
  • You may not copy pages wholesale onto another site.
  • Bookmaker names and logos belong to those companies, not to us, and their use here is to identify them.

Limits on our liability

We provide this site as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss you suffer from using it, from relying on it, or from anything that happens at a bookmaker you reached through it. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot lawfully be limited.

If part of this is unenforceable

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Which law applies

South African law governs these terms and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top tells you when we last did, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
